Jesus Gerardo Lopez

All you wanted was to come home, but the good Lord decided to take you to HIS home instead.

Jesus Geraldo Lopez, age 39, passed away unexpectedly on November 14, 2021 at Kindred Hospital in El Paso, Texas. Jesus was born on November 20, 1981 to Ernesto and Mary Lou Lopez of Tularosa, NM. He was raised in Tularosa where he attended and graduated from Tularosa High School. Jesus had a love for music, family and friends. He worked as a caregiver for many years, including the care of his brother-in-law. We will always remember Jesus for the unique nicknames he always gave, his joking around, his BIG laugh, kindness, great personality, and the strength he had to get through.

Jesus was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. He was a friend to many. Always sharing laughter with others, a big heart with lots of love to share with anyone and everyone. His contagious smile and laughter could brighten anyone's day. Despite his struggles, he always had a smile on his face and always had encouraging and caring words for anyone who needed a friend. Not only did Jesus provide an amazing friendship to others, he had many friends who loved, cared and constantly checked on him.

Jesus is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ignacio and Margarita Roman of Alamogordo, NM and Modesto and Soledad Lopez of Tularosa, NM.

Jesus is survived by his wife, Amanda Lopez and their three children, Ignacio, Abenico and Allorah; his parents, Ernest and Mary Lou Lopez; three siblings, Yvonne Becchetti, Anthony Lopez (Araceli) and Joseph Lopez (Michelle); brother-in-law, Stevie Carter; sister-in-law, Kristi Marks; numerous nieces and nephews, Marina Becchetti (Michael Gonzalez), Katrina Becchetti (Sergio Muniz), Regina Becchetti (Deigo Gomez), Dominic Becchetti, Angelina Becchetti, Christina Becchetti, Sarina Becchetti, Edger Lopez, Lourdes Lopez, Lauren Lopez, Karissa Lopez, Mikayla Lopez, Brayden Marks, Cody Scroggens, and Kaleb Scroggens; 15 great nieces and nephews as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The Rosary for Jesus Lopez will be recited at 10:30 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St. Frances de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa, NM.

Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

A Pot-Luck dinner will follow the services at St. Francis de Paula Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to his three children.

Jesus was loved by many and will be deeply missed. His wings were ready, but our hearts were not.

The Lopez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home, Inc. to direct the funeral services.
