Jeffrey William Glaze (54) was born on December 11, 1965 in Long Beach, California to Bill and Gaytha Glaze. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 11, 2020 after a brief illness and is now rejoicing in Heaven with a new body after shedding the bonds of his earthy one. We rejoice with him, “For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.” 2 Cor. 5:1 NLT.
Jeff graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1984, then joined the U.S. Air Force where he became a flight simulator technician. He continued in flight simulation as a civilian contractor, working on the F-4G, F-16, and F-117A flight simulators. While working at the F-117A simulator at Holloman AFB, he met the love of his life. He and Kellie were married on June 24, 1995. In 2007 Jeff was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, an event that would change his entire outlook on life and choice of career. He was ordained as a Pastor in 2007, and served at Trinity Baptist Church in High Rolls, Tularosa First Baptist Church, and Calvary Chapel Alamogordo. Jeff had a passion for teaching in general, but especially for teaching the Word of God. He loved working with children, especially teaching at Vacation Bible School. He recently earned his Associate Degree in Elementary Education and was planning to become a middle school teacher. He was involved with many organizations during his lifetime, including NM Search and Rescue, GCRMC Volunteer Chaplain program, Angel Tree Ministries, Campus Christian Fellowship, and the AWANA program. If it involved teaching the youth, Jeff was the first to volunteer.
Jeff was a man who was full of energy and vitality, always looking for some new adventure. He loved fly fishing, riding his mule, exploring in his FJ, hiking, and all things involving the outdoors. He was caring, loved people, and was always willing to help others.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Kellie Glaze; his brother, Clint and wife Jessica Glaze; nephews, Kirk Glaze and Tyler Glaze; niece, Taylor Glaze; great nieces, Jaylee Glaze, Shy Glaze and Kensley Glaze; and great nephew, Shawn Glaze.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Marion Glaze and his mother, Gaytha Lynn Glaze.
