Janice was born September 4, 1940 in Wichita, Kansas, to Arthur and Rachel Ledeboer. She was the oldest of 8 children and happily watched her siblings grow up with her. While she was still young, she moved with her family to Salina, Kansas where she stayed all through her high school years. After high school, she went to work for dry cleaners and started attending Brown Mackie School of Business studying shorthand. While working at the dry cleaners, she met a young Airman, Louis Wilson, who was stationed at Schilling AFB, married him on May 28, 1959 and their life adventure began. In that adventure she would give birth to 8 children, he would leave the military, become an over the road truck driver so she could be home with the children and she proudly became a trucker’s wife. With Louis by her side she moved to Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado, and eventually settled in New Mexico to finish raising their family. Everywhere she lived, she would gain many more kids who would call her mom and grandma. During the holiday seasons in Alamogordo, she would open her home to many of the airman who were stationed at Holloman AFB so they had 'a home cooked meal with family' while they were away from home. She passed away at home on December 22, 2020 with family by her side.
