It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Janet M Podhajecki was called to her eternal home March 12, 2026, surrounded by her family. 

Janet was born on April 4,1946, to Jesse and Laura Holbert in San Diego, California. She spent her first few years living in Sun Crest California before moving with her family to Alamogordo, NM in the 1950's. 

Janet met the love of her life and future husband Stanley Podhajecki on Holloman AFB, NM where Stanley was serving in the US Air Force. They got married in 1965 and shortly after moved to Connecticut while Stanley went to serve our country in Vietnam. When he returned home, they expanded their family by having their 2 sons, Stephen and Paul, before returning to Alamogordo NM in 1970, where they had their 2 daughters Stephanie and Laurie. Janet had a love unwavering for her family, grandkids, great grandkids, hummingbirds, BBQ's, picnics, music, fast cars and auto racing. She was someone who welcomed you into her life with open arms. Although her presence is greatly missed, her legacy lives on in each and every person she loved. 

Janet is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Laura Holbert, her siblings Barbara Johnston, Robert (Bobby), Kenneth, and Douglas Holbert. 

She is survived by her loving husband Stanley of the family home, her children Stephen Podhajecki of Alamogordo NM, Paul Podhajecki and wife Rose of El Paso Tx, Stephanie Bowman and husband Bob of Alamogordo NM, and Laurie Sierra Podhajecki of Alamogordo NM. 11 grandkids Chelsea, Ethan (Becca), Aaron, Justin (Jade), Casey (Jacob), Kenneth, Caitlyn (Logan), Kirsten, Lillian, Kassandra, and Grace, 4 great-grandkids Elizabeth, Montgomery, Madeline, Astrid plus 1 on the way, as well as several nieces, nephews and family friends. 

The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home. 

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
