Janet Lewis

Janet Lewis, 89, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 15, 2023, in Alamogordo, NM. Janet was born on January 31, 1934, to Otho and Beulah Williams in Oakdale, Louisiana.
 
Janet was an avid water sports fan. She loved boating, fishing, water skiing, jet skiing, and rafting. She also loved cards, board games and crochet. She was a very dedicated secretary/administrative assistant/forms designer and publication manager for over 40 years at Holloman AFB, the majority for the 49th Fighter Wing receiving numerous awards for her service. 

Janet was preceded in death by twins, Michael Wayne Lewis and Kerry Jean Lewis; her parents, two brothers and one sister. 

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 69 1/2 years, Herbert D. Lewis; daughters, Terry Lee and Sandy Jackson (Loren); grandson, Alex Hein (Kelsey); great granddaughter, Sophie Grace Hein; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Alamogordo Hospice and Alamogordo Funeral Home for their excellent care and compassion. 
 
Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 pm, Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
