James "Tony" A Haltmar

James "Tony" A Haltmar passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. He was born on August 4, 1937 in Beeville, Texas. 

Tony joined the Air Force in 1955 and retired in 1973. He then worked in Civil Service at Holloman Air Force Base retiring in 1992. Tony enjoyed working with wood, camping, fishing, boating, shooting, as well as many other hobbies. He loved animals and rescued many Great Danes.

Tony is survived by his wife, Florence; sister, Teresa Birdsong; son, James Haltmar and wife Lani; daughters, Kim Haltmar, Debbie Tavares and husband Robert, Teri Brooks and husband Jeff; step children, Lonnie Kirkpatrick and wife Nora, Sherry Roberts and husband Randy; Florence's daughters, Evelyn and Judy; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special cat, Lucky, that he rescued.

Tony will be missed, as he was a great father and husband.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside Services for James Haltmar will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, October 8, 2021 at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Sowers officiating.

The Haltmar family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
