James Brent Hunt was born in Deming, NM on November 25, 1963. He passed away at home following a lengthy illness on February 21, 2021.
In high school Brent achieved the Eagle Scout Award and was the valedictorian of his senior class. He attended NM State University where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. During his career he worked for the City of Albuquerque, Federal Highway Administration, United States Forest Service, and the Civil Engineering Squadron at Hollomon Air Force Base.
Brent was a true American patriot. He loved his country and the Lord Jesus and it hurt his heart to see the many changes that have occurred in our country in recent years. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing, four-wheeling, reading about/visiting old ghost towns, and going for long drives in the country. He loved his family and often enjoyed reminiscing with them. He had a generous heart and did not hesitate to help those less fortunate.
Brent is survived by his wife Brenda, to whom he was married for 33 years; his brother, Dean Hunt; his sisters, Sandra (Ramon) Pacheco and Cindy Brodbeck. He is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends, co-workers, and his Cornerstone Chapel family.
Brent was preceded in death by his parents, Shelberdeen and Evelyn Hunt; his sister, Beverly Barnes; his brother, David Hunt; and nephew, Paul Barnes.
