Jack D Chase

Jack D. Chase, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and retired United States Army veteran passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024. Jack was born in Isabel, South Dakota on December 28, 1931. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War earning the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars and the Army Commendation Medal, retiring after 22 years of service.

Jack was the loving husband of Sofia Chase, with whom he shared a 67-year marriage and enduring bond. Together they built a loving family with three children, ten grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. As a father, Jack was known for his unwavering love for his family and incredible generosity.
In retirement, Jack enjoyed traveling, playing golf with his golf partners, and spending time with his grandchildren. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Jack is survived by his wife, Sofia Chase of the family home; daughters, Deborah Chase Hamrick of Haslet, Texas and Jackie Chase Pohl of McKinney, Texas; son, Darin Chase of Gonzales, Louisiana; his numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter O. Chase and Bernice Peterson Chase; brother, Bob Chase; sisters, Carol Fuhrer, Jan Linde, Betty Yuly; and granddaughter, Aexis Pohl.

A Memorial Service for Jack will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel, 2301 E First Street, Alamogordo, NM where family and friends will gather to honor Jacks memory and celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Korean War Veterans Association or the charity of their choice.

The Chase family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
