Hortensia (Bejarano) Artiaga

Hortensia Artiaga, 73, peacefully went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2021. She was born on April 25th, 1947 in El Mulato, Chihuahua to Marcello and Elisa Bejarano.  
  
Hortensia was a very loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and daughter. Hortenisa moved to Artesia, NM as a child with her mother, father and siblings. Later in life, she found her home in Alamogordo, NM where she raised her family. As a homemaker, she provided a warm and loving home for her husband and children. Hortensia was funny, smart, beautiful, and loved video games and playing the slots at the casino. She will always be adored and missed. 
  
Survivors include, her husband Alex Artiaga; her oldest daughter, Jo Anne Shank (age 54); her sons, Deon (age 50) and Alex Rey (age 47); her youngest daughter, Chrystallyne (age 33); her siblings, Mary Hernandez, Clementa Lopez, Jesus, Luz and Martin Montoya, and Josie and Nieves Chavarria; many nieces and nephews; her grandchildren, Chrystofer, Sabra, Zack, Taylor, Juliet, Jocelyn, Jerrick-Cole, Xavien, and Neveiaha; her great-grandchildren, Genisys, Sailym, Peyton, Annastasia, Jase, and Wesley. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Marcello Bejarano; mother, Elisa Bejarano; and her siblings, Elisa and Manuela. 
  
The Viewing for Hortensia Artiaga will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Alamogordo Funeral Home, 2301 First Street in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
  
Due to the COVID Pandemic, occupancy at the visitation is limited to no more than 5 people at a time. Please practice social distancing at all times. Thank you for adhering to the Department of Health mandate.
