One of seven children, Harold Wayne Davis was born in Honey Grove, Texas in early 1935, to parents, Ray and Naomi Davis. After working at the family lumber mill and ranch, Harold enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1955. During his tenure with the Army, he participated in Pacific theatre nuclear weapons testing along with support operations in Burma. While in Burma, he met and married a beautiful young woman by the name of Olga in 1960. As a young married couple, Harold and Olga raised three amazing children, David, Robert and Susan. While on a tour of Viet Nam, Harold saw action with hostile forces that earned him a Bronze Star medal. In 1975, Harold retired from the Army after twenty years. After five years of working for mobile radio companies in Texas and New Mexico, Harold and Olga started their own business in Alamogordo. Twenty-five years later they retired and relished the quiet life in New Mexico.
Harold was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy and Mack. His surviving siblings are Bobby, Ron, Charlene and Linda.
The Davis Family extends a heartfelt gratitude to David Cables for caring for Harold in his final days. Special thanks to David’s family, Patricia Cables and Shirley Allen for their assistance in this difficult phase of life.
