Gloria Chavez

Gloria Chavez, 59, a lifelong resident of Alamogordo, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was born on June 7, 1966, in Alamogordo.

Gloria attended a 2-year college course with IBC, majoring in Business receiving her diploma. She began her career for the state of New Mexico with the Human Services Department, a 20-year service interrupted due to a battle with cancer, until her death. Gloria was outgoing, loved to cook, enjoyed family celebrations, loved to dance, and enjoyed beer and outdoor grilling.

Gloria is survived by her partner of 9 years, Toby Cordova; daughter, Suzanna Moncayo and husband Bobby; son, Herbert (Boy Boyz) Chavez and partner Vanessa Troncoso; mother, Rosemary Chavez; sisters, Glenda Guerra and husband Dennis, Karen Henley and husband David, Cathy Telles and husband Arthur.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dario Chavez Sr.; brother, Dario Chavez Jr.; infant sister, Suzanna Chavez; Herby Coyazo.

Services for Gloria Chavez will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Alamogordo Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 2:00 pm with Memorial Service at 2:30 pm. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.

The Chavez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
