Gloria Elena Puebla Aragon

Gloria Elena Puebla Aragon passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at the age of 98, surrounded by her family in Bent, New Mexico. She was born on April 17, 1927, in Laredo Texas to Tomas and Cecilia Puebla. 

Gloria was the epitome of a loving wife, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her life was filled with remarkable accomplishments and cherished memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew her. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, father, Tomas Eduardo Puebla and mother, Cecilia Leal Puebla; her husband, Lawrence and she is survived by their four children, Lawrence, Frederick, Joseph and Cecilia; four grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.

Gloria grew up in Kingsville, Texas surrounded by loving grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. On the night that World War II ended, Gloria met her future husband, Lawrence, at a dance sponsored by the Catholic church. They were united in marriage at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Kingsville, Texas on October 9, 1945.

Gloria spent a majority of her life with her husband, Lawrence, raising their four children in Bagdad, Arizona. Upon retirement from Bagdad Public Schools, Lawrence and Gloria moved to Taos, New Mexico.

A devout Catholic all her life, Gloria has gone home to be with her Lord. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, September 15, 2025, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 715 North 8th Street, Kingsville, TX. Gloria will be laid to rest alongside her mother at Chamberlain Cemetery, in Kingsville, Texas.

The family wishes to express its deep gratitude to all those who supported Gloria and her family prior to and during her passing. Lastly, the family appreciates the many friends and extended family who checked in on Gloria. It’s evident she impacted many lives, and her presence will be sorely missed.
