Gilbert M Vigil

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Gilbert M. Vigil, who has gone to be with our Savior on June 2, 2024.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents, Margarito and Manuelita Vigil; brothers, Simon Vigil and Alfredo Vigil. He is survived by his brothers, Leroy Vigil and wife Maricela of Texas, and Robert Vigil of Texas; sister, Mary Vigil of New Mexico; nephew, Emilio V Torres; nieces, Christina V Torres and Michelle Vigil; many great nieces and nephews. 

Gilbert was a devoted son, brother, and uncle. He served in the Army and the Reserves. He dedicated his life to taking care of his parents, nephews, and nieces. He was a kind soul and often gifted his family, especially the children. Gilbert always had a pleasant sense of humor. He would often give the children cookies and always say that they were from the “Cookie Monster”.  

Funeral services for Gilbert will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 705 Delaware Ave, Alamogordo, NM, 88310. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am with Mass celebrated at 10:30 am. A reception will follow at Parish Hall.
