Gerald "Jerry" Anthony Huey

Gerald "Jerry" Anthony Huey passed away on November 3, 2025, in Alamogordo, NM. He was born on April 14, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio to Harold C. and Valerie A. Huey. 

Jerry attended Holy Angels Catholic School in Dayton until the family moved to Cloudcroft, NM in 1952. He attended Cloudcroft High School until 1954 when the family moved to Holloman AFB where his father was the base fire chief. Jerry graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1957and attended New Mexico Western University in Silver City for 2 years. He then joined the US Navy serving as a medical corpsman at Bethesda and Walter Reed Hospital ending his Navy career in Guam in 1962. Jerry began his civilian career at the Holloman High Speed Test Track completing 20 years. In 1982, he transferred to White Sands Missile Range as a range controller retiring in 1992 with a total of 30 years' service. Jerry married Josephine Candalaria in 1988 residing in Tularosa, NM.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his two brothers, Thomas C. Huey and wife Donna of Cerritos, California and Robert H. Huey of Alamogordo; nephew, Alan Huey and niece, Deborah Graham and husband Shannon of Alamogordo.

No Services have been scheduled but Jerry has been cremated, and his ashes will be buried beside his wife in Bent, New Mexico at a later date.

The Huey family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
