Freida Lynne Reinke

It is with heavy hearts the family of Freida Lynne Reinke announce her passing, which occurred on October 11, 2023, in Alamogordo, NM following a brief illness. Freida was born in Roswell, NM on December 27, 1944, to Frederick and Velma Lee (Carr) Reinke, at St. Mary's Hospital. Years later, this same hospital would become Freida's employer. At the start of her career in 1981, Freida worked at St. Mary's in Central Supply as a tech. Freida had a strong work ethic. She was a team leader as well as a team player. She worked her way up the administrative ladder. She medically retired in 2000 from Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, ending her career as the Sterile Supply Supervisor. 

Freida had an eclectic taste in music. Her collection includes artists from Debussy to Ozzy Osbourne. Freida loved animals and she provided a safe and loving home to several fortunate dogs over the years. She enjoyed crocheting creating special afghans for family members, which are precious keepsakes to be treasured and passed down throughout the family. Freida enjoyed cooking and baking. She was an avid reader, which is a gift she passed on to her daughters and grandchildren. Freida spent her later years helping to care for all of her grandchildren, who affectionately called her, Mimi. She was loved by all of their friends as well because of her kind heart and cheeky sense of humor. 

Freida is survived by her eldest daughter, Taysha Henke and son-in-law, David and their children: Christopher, Chloe, and Jacob. Her first great grandchild is expected in November 2023. Freida is also survived by her youngest daughter, Lynne Zsoka and grandson, Adam Doughty. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William "Bill" Walker; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 28, 2023, at South Park Cemetery in Roswell, NM.

The Reinke family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
