Eva Rose Ortega

Eva Rose Ortega, 83, beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023, in Alamogordo, NM. Eva was born to Feliz Trujillo and Jim D Randall on November 20, 1939, in Ruidoso, NM.

After graduating from Tularosa High School in 1958, Eva traveled by train to join the Women’s Army Corp and served as an administrative specialist. She married her lifelong partner Paco on November 16, 1963. Eva retired from the State of New Mexico as a social and human service assistant at the age of 50. She also applied herself to compete and win awards at the New Mexico Senior Olympics. She enjoyed the outdoors, music, dancing, and painting. She truly loved to spoil all of her grandbabies. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

Eva was preceded in death by her father, Jim D Randall; mother, Feliz Trujillo; husband of 42 years, David (Paco) Ortega; brother, Jimmy Randall. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, David Ortega; daughter, Diana Ortega; goddaughter, Ericka Martinez; grandchildren, Martha Hernandez, Feliz Hernandez, Randall Ortega; great grandchildren, Alyvia Sanders, Aaliyah Sanders; brother and sisters, Ethel Chavez, Emilio (Stella) Randall, Bonnie Arias, Mary (Jerry) Shockey; and a host of family and friends.

Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm, Monday, October 9, 2023, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at St Francis de Paula Catholic Church. 

Pallbearers to serve will be Nico Randall, Ronnie Romero, Jamie Shockey, Rito Arias, Eddie Martinez, Roy (Tito) Martinez.

The Ortega family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
