Ellen Moffatt

Ellen Moffatt, 84, passed away on May 2, 2022 in El Paso, TX. She was born in Jamestown, NY to Alfred and Edith Christensen on March 1, 1938. Ellen married her husband, Jack Moffatt, on March 3, 1956 in Belvidere, IL.

Survivors include her husband, The Reverend Jack F. Moffat of the family home; son, John Moffett, II (Lori) of Frederick, CO; daughters, Lucy Vizcaino (Bill) of El Paso, TX and Christi Bejadhar (Peter) of Colorado Springs, CO; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, A. Edwin and C. Wilbur Christensen; sisters, M. Louise Biggins and E. Eleanor Wicklund.

Ellen was a dynamic supporter of Jack’s ministries in Wesley UMC Alamogordo, 1st  UMC Clovis, NM, Western Hills UMC El Paso, TX, Merkel UMC Spur, TX as well as USAF bases in England, France, Spain, and Texas. She loved singing and leading children’s choirs and was active in United Methodist Women, ABC Sunday School in Grace UMC and Wesley UMC Clown ministries. 

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1206 Greenwood Lane, Alamogordo, NM with Reverend Kelly McCuaig officiating.

Should friends desire, contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Youth Ministries and Alzheimer’s Association in Ellen’s memory.

The Moffatt family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
