Edith Louise (Hanton) Kuwanoe, 84, passed away at her home on December 28, 2024, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was born on March 8, 1940, in Oil City, Pennsylvania.
Edie, as known to her family, loved to quilt. She was a military wife and lived in nine different states and three foreign countries.
Survivors include her husband, Kalani K. Kuwanoe of TX; daughters, Laura (Hanton) Walls and husband Michael of Alamogordo and Gena (Kuwanoe)Oehlerich and husband Christopher of Las Vegas, NV; sons, Frank T. Kuwanoe of GA and David M. Kuwanoe and wife Sheryl of the Philippines; grandchildren, Katherine Post and husband James, Alana Shadburn and husband Phillip, Owen, Baily, Dylan, and Sean Kuwanoe; great grandchildren, Sean Post, Adrian, Oswald and Fredrick Shadburn.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank J. Hanton; mother, Helen M. (Decker) Hanton; sister, Helen M. (Hanton) Kuwahara and husband Denis; sister-in-law, Jean Ann Sebold.
No services for Edie will be held. Scattering of her ashes will take place at a later date.
The Kuwanoe family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
