Donna Rae (Davis) Sandoval, age 75, was peacefully born into eternity on May 9, 2022. Donna was born August 7, 1946 in Albuquerque, NM to Arthur Raymond Davis and Margaret Louise Sheppard.
Donna grew up in Raton, NM with her younger brother Raymond Wesley Davis. She graduated high school and joined the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1964 - 1967. Donna then worked for the Department of Defense, retiring with over 30 years of service. She was instrumental in the communications field for the testing of National Defense Missile Systems, as well as working during all the Space Shuttle Missions providing essential encrypted communication between the Shuttles and NASA. She lived most of her life in southern New Mexico, and absolutely loved the culture, beauty, and peacefulness it has to offer. She loved the beautiful sunsets and clear blue sky.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Delfinio Sandoval. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Kellie Glaze and Laura (Ryan) Ross, of Alamogordo; 2 sons, John (Karen Schuemann) Russell of Orland Park, IL and J. Antonio (George Headley) Sandoval of Alamogordo; 2 granddaughters, Amber (Dustin) Blechschmidt and Kayla Ross of Mesa, AZ; grandson, John Raymond Russell of Orland Park, IL; and brother, Ray Davis of Chino Valley, AZ.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. She will be missed tremendously by all that knew her.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 14th, 2022 at the Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel, 2301 E First St., Alamogordo, NM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org. We also request attendees consider wearing bright, vibrant clothes to honor our mother’s free spirit nature and love of all things colorful.
The Sandoval family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
