Donald W. Schorn

Donald W. Schorn, 74, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on July 17, 2023. He was born on August 4, 1948, to Leo and Frances Schorn in Roswell, NM. 

Donald was an Army Veteran who served in the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division From 1972 to 1977. He was a correctional officer for the state of Texas from 1979 to 1989. Donald returned to Alamogordo in 1989, where lived until his passing. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Rosemary; brother, Leo F. Schorn; grandchild, Grey Dixon. 

Donald is survived by his 3 children, Leonard Schorn of Alamogordo, NM, Becky Dixon and husband Michael of Tularosa, NM, Kenneth Schorn and wife Krystalina of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren, Dillon Dixon of Tularosa, NM, Kaleb and Kylis Schorn of Peoria, AZ; sisters, Laura Worley and husband Bobby of Lubbock, TX, Sue Reynolds of Alamogordo, NM; 1 niece and 2 nephews. 

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, July 28, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.

The Schorn family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
