Dolores Antionette (Tressie) Shields, 86, proceeded to her heavenly home on September 8, 2023. She was born on June 13, 1937, in Monroe, Michigan to Ben and Bessie (Hosek) Tressie.
Lovingly called “Grandma Dee” by many, she enjoyed reading, coloring on her tablet, watching movies and NCIS, and going to Wal-Mart every Saturday. She was a constant source of kindness and encouragement to her family and friends, and she had a wonderful sense of humor. From her successful career in food services to her genuine enthusiasm to fold laundry and actually put it away, throughout her entire life, she never missed an opportunity to serve and help others.
Survivors include her siblings, Leota Marie Kostenbader and John Santangelo, both of Tucson, AZ; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and William Osborn of Alamogordo, NM; grandson, Spencer Osborn also of Alamogordo, NM; and granddaughter, Kathryn Osborn of Colorado Springs, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Tressie; first husband, Robert Zaeske; and second husband, Donald Shields.
Services will be held next spring in Tucson, AZ where she will be interned with her husband Don according to her wishes.
Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s.
The Shields family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
