Diane Mirabal Obituary

Diane Mirabal passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at her home. She was married to Michael Mirabal of Tularosa, New Mexico. Diane is survived by her children, Monica, Michael and wife Myrna, Matthew Mirabal and companion Amanda; grandchildren: Malya, Galylea, Matthew, Domanick, Gabriella Mirabal, and Asher Duran. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life.  

Diane was born Luisita Diane Madril and was the daughter of Guadalupe Madril and Dionesia Jaramillo of Duran, New Mexico. The Madril family has lived in New Mexico since 1603 and participated in the illustrious history and development of the state. Diane was a member of the Sacred Heart Society of Saint John the Baptist Church in Duran, New Mexico. She was a very kind and loving person with a big heart. She would often help others in need, whether it be taking them to doctor’s appointments and grocery shopping or by just spending time with those who needed her. Diane was a woman of many talents, making her own decorations for her home and for friends.  When Diane and Michael met in 1973, she was working at the Levi factory in Alamogordo, NM.  Diane also served as a dispatcher for the Tularosa Police Department in the early 2000’s and was called back to work many times to cover shifts when they were in need.  Diane spent the rest of her days caring for her grandchildren and was the happiest when they were around.  

She was blessed with a large loving family. She is survived by her sisters, Augustina Archibeque and husband Richard of Belen, Berna Encinias and husband Grable, Mary Gonzales and husband Billy of Clovis, Eloisa Marez and husband Richard of Albuquerque, Norma Marez and husband Clario Sr. of Sedillo; brothers, Jose Madril and companion Josie Martinez of Duran, Albert and Cyndy Madril of Chaparral, Pablo Madril of Albuquerque, Johnny Madril and wife Lucy of Hobbs; brother-in-law, Margarito Chavez of Vaughn, and sister-in-law Andrea Madril of Alamogordo; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives. and many friends.  Diane has gone on to join her parents, Guadalupe and Dionesia; brothers, Liberato and Samuel; sisters, Cornelia and Joann; and other family. 

Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church.

The Rosary for Diane Mirabal will be recited at 10:30 am, Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church with Father Patrick Montgomery, Celebrant.

Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

The Mirabal family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
