David Wolf, Jr. Obituary

David E. Wolf, Jr. (Dave), 61, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, entered everlasting peace on Monday, February 9, 2026.

Dave was born on Edwards Air Force Base in California to Angelika E. (nee Vogt) and David E. Wolf, Sr. He left the family home when he joined the United States Air Force (USAF) at the age of 18 and served his country honorably as a munition’s technician for 26 years. During his military career, he earned numerous awards, medals and commendations including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Medal, among others.  He retired as a Master Sergeant in 2009. After his retirement from the USAF, Dave worked with General Atomics for several years before finally retiring from professional employment.

Dave was an avid Bass Fisherman. He spent many long, sunny Saturdays at one of several New Mexico lakes honing his skills. When not at the lake, he was at home building and painting his own lures, perfecting line knots, practicing his cast, and knowing exactly what was needed to catch the PERFECT bass. He often joked that winning bass tournaments was his retirement plan and had a T-Shirt reflecting this plan that he wore frequently.

Dave is survived by his father-in-law, Edgar Wilson and his partner Tina Haney; wife Lori Wolf; children, Michael Wolf, David E. Wolf III, Shawna Espiritu, Rhiannon Wolf and her partner Lake Lester; stepsons, Scott Torrey and Brian Mirabal; grandchildren, Rylee Espiritu, Liam Espiritu, Synari Caje, Amurai Caje; sisters, Kathy Knudson and her husband Bob, Barb Ristow and her husband Karl, Ellie Faull and her husband Tim; brothers, Bill Wolf and his partner Marnie Wilson, and Charlie Wolf and his wife Angie; sister-in-law, Jenny Rios and her husband Jaime; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his mother-in-law, Donna Wilson. His generous, loving spirit will be missed by all his family and friends.
