Daniel “Danny” Salazar, 54, entered into rest on February 2, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his father, Albert Salazar Jr; maternal grandparents, Olivia and Andres Colmenero; paternal grandparents, Albert and Lucia Salazar; brother, Joe Guinn; nieces, Edwina Guinn and D’vine Alina; and numerous uncles. Danny is survived by his mother, Olivia Esquivel; stepfather, Samuel Esquivel; sisters, Jessica Salazar and Michelle Esquivel; children, Idalis, Isaiah and Isabella Salazar; grandchildren, Lucas Blade and Sutton Salazar; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.
Danny graduated from Alamogordo High School and joined the US Navy soon after. He served in the Desert Storm/Desert Shield War. After his time in the Navy, he returned home to Alamogordo where he worked in communications and maintenance. He shortly settled down and had his three children.
Danny was always a hard worker and willing to lend a hand however he could. He loved making people laugh and was great at making anyone feel welcomed. He was a jack of all trades. Danny was an amazing son, great brother, dependable friend, and loving dad and grandfather. Danny enjoyed spending time with friends and family, watching sports, and most of all, spending time with his grand babies.
The Memorial Service for Danny will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Mountain View Church in Alamogordo. He will be laid to rest with his father at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery following the service.
