Daniel LaMarkus “Bud” Garcia, son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend to many, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 in Tularosa, NM.
Daniel was born on July 19, 1987 to Simon Garcia and Leslie Adamson. He lived all of his life in his beloved Tularosa, and was a proud ‘07 graduate of Tularosa High School. Daniel was an adorable baby, with a head full of dark curls. He loved vacuum cleaners and Littlefoot from the Land Before Time. When he was only nine months old, he shocked everyone by learning to whistle.
As a pre-teen, he loved scary movies, BB guns and collecting coins. He had short stints at Little League Baseball and loved to help his grandparents with yard work, especially gathering pecans. All through high school, Bud loved skateboarding and art. He was very talented at wood burning and writing. He was even known to sport a great looking Mohawk.
Most recently, Bud was learning to play the guitar and was a talented singer. He spent a lot of time with his dogs who he loved so much. He also enjoyed spending time with his nephews and nieces, and prided himself on being a great Uncle. They all knew him as Tio Bud and he would let them wear his cowboy hat. He hoped their parents wouldn’t catch him sneaking them Tootsie Pops. He had amazing culinary skills and loved to bake all kinds of pies. Most of all, Bud loved to have a good time. His friends and family will all remember him for his infectious laugh and kind spirit.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Simon Garcia; his paternal grandpa, Ysidro Garcia; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Patricia Smith; and his aunt, Tami Kelly.
He is survived by his mother, Leslie Moffett; his paternal grandmother, Pauline Garcia; his maternal grandfather, Jerry Adamson; his brother, Nicholas Garcia; his sisters, Hollyann Ruspoli, Teddy Liggon and Sierra Collins; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa.
