Daniel Miguel Ramon Contreras Benitez

Our beloved son, Daniel Miguel Ramon Contreras Benitez, 39, lost his life on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Our hearts are completely broken after such an unexpected and sudden tragedy.

Daniel was born on April 1, 1984, to mother, Diana Apodaca Contreras and father, Ramon Noriega Benitez. He is survived by his pride and joy and one and only daughter, Julianna Myalinda Benitez. He leaves behind his sister, Lisa Marie Torres (David Valenzuela) and brother, Eric Vicente Benitez; nephews, Jeremy Lujan, Julian Torres, Tylan Valenzuela; niece, Ariana Torres; and great niece, Delilah Lujan. He leaves his grandmother whom he would refer to as “Grammich” Jovita “Tobi” Noriega. Daniel is also survived by a numerous amount of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

As a young boy, Daniel enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, rabbit hunting, bike riding, baseball, hanging out with all his Chihuahuita friends “Los Vatos Locos” that he grew up with. Their friendship was a long-lasting relationship to this day. Daniel was gifted with his talent in drawing free hand pictures. He loved art as well as his music. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle feeling the air, feeling the freedom. Anyone who knew Daniel knew he was a unique character. He’d light up a room with his beautiful smile, kind and humble heart, always ready to give a helping hand to anyone in need. 

His intelligence and curiosity made him always eager to learn and explore new ideas. Daniel was baptized and received his salvation on August 20, 2023.

Daniel was taken from us too soon. The memories we all have will continue to remain in our thoughts, in our hearts and in our prayers. Nothing can separate us from the love and bond we shared. There is a void in our hearts, and we will miss him dearly. Always and forever, rest in peace, no more pain and suffering.

A service to celebrate Daniel's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Mountain View Church, 1300 Cuba Avenue, Alamogordo, NM, 88310. A reception will follow immediately.

The Benitez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
