Cristina Manjarrez Gonzalez

Cristina Manjarrez Gonzalez, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 19, 2021 in Alamogordo, New Mexico at her home surrounded by her loved ones. 

Cristina was born in Las Varas, Nayarit, Mexico. She came to the United States at the age of 27 as a legal immigrant and later became a US citizen. Cristina has worked very hard since her arrival in the US, working in fields and orchards. She eventually found work in San Jose, California at a canning company working full-time and working part-time in a Mexican restaurant. She working both locations until her retirement in the 1990's.

Cristina was a very active person and after her retirement, she helped care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She planned trips to the Casinos with her friends and cooked for special occasions to keep herself busy. Cristina always made sure family and friends never left her home without having something to eat or drink. She later moved to New Mexico in 2018 where she resided and was cared for by family members until our Heavenly Father called her home.

Cristina is survived by her son, her daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, who love her and will miss her dearly.

Services for Cristina will be held by her loving family in Mexico and California.

The Gonzalez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
