Colleen W Bussing

Colleen Bussing, 78, of Alamogordo, NM, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 3, 2021 in Alamogordo, NM. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Wanda Williams, her brother Don Williams, and beloved husband of 38 years. George went home to his Lord and Savior ahead of her July 9th, 2020. Colleen is survived by her son, Todd Schoening (Jarrissa) and by Colleen's "bonus" children Julie (Tom), Debby (Paul) and Brett and several grandchildren. She is survived by siblings Jim (Sherry), Joy (Jeffrey) and Kenny (Teri) many loved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Colleen was born and raised in Tempe Arizona to a pioneer family that was one of the first families to settle in the area.

George and Colleen were high school sweethearts and were reunited later in life, resulting in a blessed marriage of 38 years. They were deeply devoted to each other and their marriage took them across the US from Arizona to Dover, Delaware and back to Alamogordo where George had previously served at Holloman AFB. They enjoyed many trips and adventures over the years, visiting family and friends along the way. After settling and retiring in Alamogordo, they became very active in the community - George was very active in Rotary and Colleen served as a volunteer for many years at the base. They leave behind a legacy of service to others, always ready to help out those in need.

They loved the Lord, George and Colleen are forever in the glory of heaven they both longed to see. They will be missed here, but we know we will see them again in the Kingdom of God.

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 17, 2021 at 11 AM at James Canyon Cemetery in Cloudcroft, NM.

The Bussing family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
