Christine Marie Pruett

Christine Marie Pruett, age 96, peacefully went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2020 in Alamogordo, NM. Christine was born on September 4, 1923 in Sweetwater, TX to John Wright and Nora Bell Wright.

Christine worked for Burgett Floral in Mayhill, NM for many years. She was a volunteer at Good Samaritan Society - Betty Dare in Alamogordo, NM for many years prior to making her home there in 2007, where she resided until her passing. She enjoyed working with flowers and going to rodeos. Her cooking was cherished by all of her family.

Christine is survived by her 4 children and their spouses, Dorothy Wimsatt (Steve), Jane Griffin (Wayne), Johnny Pruett (Susan), and Wanda “Shorty” Cross (Jim) of Otero County, NM; her 10 grandchildren, Sheri Wimsatt, Ace Wimsatt, Gwen Huston, Charlotte Griffin, Tate Pruett, Toby Pruett, Tandie Payne, Tiare Tawil, Nalani Hobbs, and Benjamin Steele; her 20 great-grandchildren; and her 6 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nora Bell Wright; her husband, Sonny Pruett; a grandchild, David Steele; and her 7 siblings.

Due to the wishes of Christine Marie Pruett and her family, no services will be held at this time. Christine will be laid to rest with her husband, Sonny, at James Canyon Cemetery.

The Pruett family have entrusted the care of their loved one to the Alamogordo Funeral Home to manage the arrangements.
