Catherine "Joyce" Laperuta

Catherine "Joyce" Laperuta, who loved to be called "G-MA" by her grandchildren, went to her heavenly home on January 3, 2022. 

Catherine was born in Wichita, KS on August 2, 1937 to Mary Catherine Tucker and William B Tucker. She was one of twelve children.

Catherine Joyce was the best Mom to Vincent Laperuta. She raised her son with love and devotion in San Pedro, CA and Presidio, TX with her husband, Gualberto Laperuta.

As a Restaurant Owner with her husband in Texas, Catherine Joyce was known for her cooking. Patrons would drive for miles! After retirement, she enjoyed BINGO weekly and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She accomplished many things in her life, but her proudest was her son, Vincent.

She is survived by her son, Vincent Laperuta (Melissa) of Alamogordo; her grandchildren, Corey Arter (Alexandrea) of Alamogordo, Tyler Sean Laperuta of Houston, TX, Alisia Laperuta (Elimelech) of Houston, TX, Andrew Laperuta (Ariaana) of Houston, TX, Nathan Laperuta of Alamogordo, and Faith Laperuta of Alamogordo; 3 great granddaughters, Athena Arter, Adeline and Amelia Gonzales.

Aside from the children she doted on, Catherine is survived by her sisters, Pamela Tucker Fielder of Wichita, KS and Deanna Nelms of Arkansas; her brother, Jerry Tucker of California; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Tucker; husband, Gualberto Laperuta; sisters, Ferol, Gwen and Beverly; brothers, Lloyd, Bill, Frank, Marvin, and Ronnie.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Mountain View Church, 1300 Cuba Avenue in Alamogordo.
