Carrie Maelene Baggett

Carrie Maelene Baggett, born April 22, 1947, in Tom Green County, Texas passed away on July 6, 2025, in Alamogordo, NM.  Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, MZ and Robbie Neldene Rutland of Barnhart, TX; husband, Jay Baggett of Alamogordo, NM; and daughter, Charlotte Kay Bradberry of Ruidoso, NM. 

Carrie is survived by her daughter, Becky Dene Denney and husband Glenn of Ruidoso, NM; granddaughters, Sara Kay Bradberry and partner Corey Clay of Ruidoso, NM, Hannah Hill and husband Clint of Dawsonville, GA, Lauren Kate Denney of Ruidoso, NM; grandson, Shelby Dene Denney of Cloudcroft, NM; great grandchildren, Tayvien and Kiyah Clay of Ruidoso, NM; Dansby and Brecken Hill of Dawsonville GA; along with Steve Baggett and Trina Jackson and family.  She forged deep friendships with Danny Baggett and Darla Baggett both of Texas, and Ann of Pennsylvania, as well as childhood friendships with Bill Bolen and Kay Johnson and families. 

Carrie spent most of her life in Texas, moving to New Mexico later in life.  She loved being a Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and especially enjoyed the friendships she made along the way.  She loved time with family and friends, crafting, fishing and traveling. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks of sincere gratitude to the staff and caregivers at the Casa Arena Health Care facility in Alamogordo, where she spent the last 2 years of her life.  

A Memorial Service is planned for Friday, July 25, 2025, at 5:00 pm at the Otero County Electric Community Room in Cloudcroft, NM.   The family would like to extend their gratitude and welcome for dinner afterwards for all.    

The Baggett family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
