Carolina "Carol" Sandoval Obituary

Carolina “Carol” R. Sandoval, 81

Carol went to be with the Lord on January 9, 2021.  She was born February 21, 1939, in Ancho New Mexico, to Victorino and Florinda (Chavez) Romero.

Carol was employed with Avco Financial and retired after more than 30 years of service. Her hard work and dedication made her the only female member of their management team, serving with over 50 male figures.  This was an accomplishment almost unheard of at the time.

After retiring from the financial industry Carol was a beautician for over 35 years.  She owned and operated the Hair Clipper’s Barber and Beauty Salon with both of her children. Carol was an avid bowler and loved to play Bingo.  She was a beloved mother and grandmother.  Her knowledge, love and advice will be dearly missed by her family.

Carol was proceeded in death by her parents, Victorino and Florinda (Chavez) Romero; her loving husband of thirty-six years, Jose “Zeke” Sandoval; stepson, Mark; sisters, Grace Guidry and Lupe Salcido; brother, Max Romero, Sr; nephew, Victor Oleson; niece, Denise Cox; and sister-in-law, Pauline Rodriguez.

Carol’s survivors include her daughter, Sandra Hernandez; her son, Jerry (Margie) Hernandez; and her stepson, Mike Sandoval; her beloved grandchildren, Victoria (Joe) Preciado, Alex (Clarissa) Preciado, Jr., Joey (Brianna) Hernandez, Jerry Hernandez, Jr., Destiny (Eric), Stephanie (Jon), Jennifer (Jacob), Abel (Julian), Tanaisa, Desiree, Rachel, and Jennifer; 18 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Debbie, Chris, Ruben, Kathy, Rebecca, Monica, and Max, Jr; brother-in-law, Manuel (Olila) Sandoval; sisters-in-law, Pat (Gus) Martinez and Rita Salcido; aunt, Stella Vullo; and cousin, Liz Johnson.

The viewing for our beloved mother Carolina R Sandoval will be held on January 22, 2021 from 3-4 pm for immediate family only and from 4-5 pm for family and loved ones at the Alamogordo Funeral Home. Due to the COVID Pandemic, occupancy at the visitation is limited to no more than 5 people at a time. Please practice social distancing at all times.
