Carole Rae Czarzasty Nivison, affectionately known as "Peaches," passed away unexpectedly on her 78th birthday, September 14, 2024, at her home in High Rolls, New Mexico. Born on September 14, 1946, in San Diego, California, Peaches embraced life with an exuberance that touched everyone she met.
A proud graduate of Point Loma High School in 1964, Peaches went on to earn Bachelor’s Degrees in both Art and Nursing from San Diego State University, graduating in 1976 and 1977, respectively. She went on to become a dedicated cardiac nurse spending many fulfilling years working alongside Dr. Davidson in San Diego where her unwavering care for patients earned her the respect and love of her colleagues and patients alike. Her commitment to the well-being of others extended beyond her profession as she served as the First Lady of Cloudcroft, New Mexico from 1988 -1996 where she was a beloved figure in the community.
She carried the sunny spirit of Southern California with her wherever she went. Her love for surfing mirrored her zest for adventure, whether riding the waves or exploring the mountains of New Mexico, she approached each day with boundless enthusiasm. A true artist at heart, Peaches found joy in creating beauty through her artwork often drawing inspiration from nature and her deep connection to the animals she cherished. Her home was a sanctuary, not only for her but also for the many animals she cared for, each one a testament to her nurturing heart.
Peaches leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and a vibrant spirit that will be profoundly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rachel Czarzasty; her nephew, Michael; her sister, Joette “Joey.” She is survived by her niece, Rachel and her three sons, Hunter, Hank, and Holt, as well as countless friends who will always remember her smile, laughter, kindness, and the unique way she embraced life.
In honor of Peaches, a celebration of her life will be held at the Cloudcroft Volunteer Fire Department, 1100 James Canyon Hwy on Saturday October 19, 2024, at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to local animal shelters, a cause dear to her heart.
Rest in peace Peaches. Your light will forever shine in our hearts.
