Calvin Gibson

Calvin (Cap) Gibson unexpectedly and peacefully passed away in Alamogordo, NM on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the age of 99 years. Calvin leaves behind a rich family heritage to his nephew, Joseph Gibson of Wisconsin; nieces, Cassandra Rodriguez of Alamogordo, NM and Theresa Morrissey of Plainfield, Illinois; cousin, Brian Harrison of California; as well as extended family and friends.

Cap served our country's Navy from 1942-1952 and then enlisted in the Coast Guard from 1953-1969. After 40 years of military service, Calvin settled into Alamogordo, NM with his wife, Betty Wilson, who was married to Cap from 1955 until her passing in 1989.

Mr. Calvin Gibson had a passion for growing peaches, plums, pairs, and pecan trees on his NM property; combining his love for family, fishing, and making wine, made Calvin's life full and productive. 

Calvin will be missed by all he touched; " WE LOVE OUR UNCLE CAP", we proudly pass on his passion for life.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Alamogordo Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service for Calvin Gibson will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Alamogordo Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.

The Gibson family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
