Bobby Ray Perry, known as Bob, passed away quietly at his Alamogordo home on February 19, 2025, surrounded by family. Bob was born in Memphis, Tennessee on May 31, 1942, to Eugene Sanders Perry and Wilma Winfred Perry. He later moving to Little Rock, Arkansas where he attended public schools. After graduating from Central High School, he earned a Bachelor of Arts from Little Rock University, Master of Education and Doctor of Education from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
Bob was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity while attending college. He began his public school administration career as a high school principal at Socorro with similar positions being held later at Hatch, Las Cruces, and finally returning to the classroom as a teacher at Alamogordo High School before retiring. He was active in the community and was commissioned a Sergeant in the New Mexico Mounted Patrol.
Bob was married for 57 years to the late, Barbara Hemphill Perry, who precedes him in death. He is also preceded in death by his parents and his son, Robert Perry. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Zaffino and her husband Len of Alamogordo; granddaughters, Ashlyn Zaffino of Alamogordo, Brittany McCutcheon and her husband Kyle of Lubbock, TX; great grandson, Ryder McCutcheon of Hobbs; granddaughters, Rebecca Marie Perry, Brooke Ray Perry of Canutillo, TX; brother, Gary Perry of Alamogordo.
Bob has been laid to rest next to his late wife, Barbara, on February 27, 2025. May God bless the family and may Bob rest in peace.
