Betty E. Weber, 92, long-time resident of Alamogordo passed away Friday, October 27, 2023. She was born June 15, 1931, in Springfield, IL to Eva Dodd and John White.
Betty attended Blackburn College in Carlinville, IL where she graduated with an Associates in Arts in 1952. She graduated from NMSU with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1972. Betty married Marvin in 1952 and they moved from Illinois to Alamogordo so Marvin could pursue employment at Holloman Air Force Base. Betty retired from New Mexico School for the Visually Handicapped in 1984. Betty was a member of The Retired Teachers Association, PEO for over 50 years (Golden Girl), Otero County Extension Club, Women’s Garden Club, Junior Women’s Club, Business Women’s Association, to name just a few.
Betty is survived by one brother, Kenneth White; two sons, Michael Weber and his wife Becky and Paul Weber and his wife Carla; seven grandchildren, Jonathan and Matthew Weber, Renee Matyniak and Christopher Weber, David and Jason Weber, Megan Lipscomb; thirteen great grandchildren, Hailey and Madelyn Weber, Kyley, Kelsey and Sadie Matyniak, Ezra Weber, Halle and Olivia Weber, Ethan and Aaron Weber, Bayley Smith, Bentley and Brynley Lipscomb.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eva Dodd and John White; brothers, James and William White; husband, Marvin of 56 years; sons, Bruce and Douglas.
A Memorial Service for Betty Weber will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Alamogordo Funeral Home, 2301 E. First Street, Alamogordo, NM with Steve Fambrough officiating.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Amber Care Hospice Alamogordo, 788 Washington Ave., Alamogordo, NM 88310-5140. The family would like to extend our gratitude to Mountain Shadows Home Health Care, Casa Arena, and Amber Care Hospice who lovingly cared for Betty.
The Weber family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
