Bertha May Allen

Bertha May Allen, born September 2, 1950, passed from this life into the arms of her loving Savior on February 1, 2025, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Annie Barker-Allen. 

Bertha will be remembered and her memories cherished as a praying mother and grandmother. Many would call upon her to pray for them in their time of need and she always seemed to know just what to say to make it better. She enjoyed many years of travel but her most favored memories were those spent with her family. You could always get a good discussion from her any time you mentioned politics or the Bible. Serving Jesus was personal to Bertha, and she never backed down from her beliefs.

Bertha is preceded in death by her mother and her son, James Leon Wood. 

She is survived by her son, Kenny Allen Wood Sr.; grandchildren, Kenny Allen Wood Jr., Jessica Ann Flowers, Alan Patrick Wood, Kimberly Ann Wood; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. 

At Bertha's request, a private graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, February 7, 2025, at Monte Vista Cemetery. 

The Allen family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
