It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arturo "Archie" Arenas on December 4, 2024, in Alaska. His passing comes just months after the loss of his brother, Jacob, earlier this year. He was surrounded by friends, family and coworkers. Archie was beloved brother, son, father, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness and infectious laughter.
Born on March 8, 1971, in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, Archie was 53 years old at the time of his passing. He leaves behind his four cherished children, Antonio (Serenity) Arenas, Aliya Arenas, Bruce Penny, and Monique Rumsey. He was deeply loved by his surviving father, Benny Arenas, who raised him and his brothers, Jacob and Isaac, with unwavering strength and love. His birth mother, Sylvia Lei Napuunoa, is deceased. He is survived by his stepmother, Patsy Arenas and his stepsiblings, Rico Torres, Angela Irby, Richmond Grant, and Roger Grant.
Archie attended Alamogordo High School class of 1989. His presence in the community will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his children, Archie leaves behind four grandchildren and one on the way, further extending his legacy of love and family. Archie shared a deep, loving relationship with his girlfriend, Evelina, whose support and companionship meant the world to him. He had a passion for cooking, playing video games and spending time with his friends, hobbies that brought him joy and relaxation. He was also dearly loved by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
A dedicated father and son, Archie's legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren and the countless memories shared with his loved ones. Archie's spirit and the impact he had on those around him will never be forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Church located at 1300 Cuba Avenue in Alamogordo, NM on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 11:00. We invite you to join us in remembering and celebrating the remarkable person he was.
