Arcelia "Chela" Rodriguez Hernandez

Arcelia “Chela” Rodriguez Hernandez passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, November 15, 2025. She was born in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico on August 13, 1947.

Chela was happily married to Pilar Hernandez for 30 years. They were inseparable. She was a very giving person to her widely extended family and all who knew her.

Chela was a beautician, an excellent cook, and enjoyed sewing. She will always be remembered for her Alamogordo tamales, the thousands of meals she produced over the years, and her beautiful smile.

Chela was happiest when her sisters and family members got together. She is survived by husband, Pilar Hernandez; son, Aldo Molinar (Annette); grandchildren, Alyssa, Natalia, and Javier; sisters, Rodriguez Alicia, Maria, Alma, Patricia, Lorena, and Sonia; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

She was preceded in death by father, Jose Cruz Rodriguez; mother, Maria de Jesus Parra; brother, Jose Alberto Rodriguez; son, Luis Javier Molinar and sister, Marina Olivia Ortiz.

Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 705 Delaware Ave., Alamogordo, NM on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 10:00 am. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am with Mass celebrated at 10:30 am. Graveside will follow at 11:30 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.

A reception will be held at the Parish Hall following the services.
