Antonia "Dora" Valdez, 85, went home to be with our Lord on February 25, 2021. Dora was a very beautiful lady and a free spirit. She loved life and taking walks in the park. She loved her music, enjoyed dancing and sang with the voice of an angel.
Dora was a character and a little spitfire...she was little, the shortest of the family. When she saw you coming, she would rush to meet you with open arms and a big smile. When she would reminisce, her favorite story was about the dove..."I remember when my daddy was dying, I was driving from work to go see him when I heard a fluttering. Looking into the rear view mirror, I saw a bird. I quickly turned and saw a dove flying around in the back of the car and wondered, how did it get in, all of my windows were closed. When I got to the hospital, I turned off the engine and looked back for the dove and it was gone. It was then that I knew my daddy had passed."
Dora loved our Lord with all of her heart. She would always tell us, "If God comes for me right now, I am ready!" God heard her.
Survivors include her seven children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
You were never a quitter. We love you and will miss you dearly. We will always remember your beautiful smile and your waving and blowing of kisses. Never forgotten, until we meet again.
The Valdez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
