Anthony James Williams

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony James Williams, 61, of Alamogordo, NM on Friday, May 31, 2024.

Anthony was born on August 21, 1962, to Marguerite Elaine Williams and Matthew Williams in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After graduating from Juneau High School, Anthony began his career in the United States Air Force. In 2000, Anthony retired with 21 years of service.

He is survived by his parents, Elaine and Matthew Williams; his sons, Anthony James Williams II and William Zimmerman; sisters, Vivian Kurutz and Marge Crittendon; brother, Kenneth Williams; grandchildren, Serenity and Liam Zimmerman; numerous family and friends.

Anthony went by many nicknames; Milwaukee, Sarge, Redd, AJ, but he found his favorite name to be called was "G-pa". He would drive multiple times a week from Alamogordo to Las Cruces to be with his two grandchildren, Serenity and Liam. His favorite thing to do with them was to hide coins and arrowheads in the backyard for them to find.

Services for Anthony will be held at 1:30 pm, Monday, June 17, 2024, at Fort Stanton Veteran's Cemetery with full Military Honors.

The Williams family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
