Remembering a Fallen Hero

Anthony (Tony) Dale Ferguson was born September 1, 1981, to Danny Ferguson and Dianne Mahan in Aztec, NM. He officially started with the Alamogordo Police Department October 31, 2011. Ferguson graduated from the New Mexico Police Academy December 14, 2012. Field Training Officer 2018 - Present. Standardized Field Sobriety Test Instructor. Crisis Intervention Team Instructor. He was an 11-year veteran. He was known as an exceptional officer, that poured himself into the community.

Jesus replied: “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Matt. 22:37-39) Ferguson lived-out this commandment daily, by his actions; and has impacted so many lives. He may not have been religious, but he understood how to love people, how to love like Jesus. Tony is greatly loved by many, and he will be profoundly missed. 

Ferguson is survived by his parents, Danny Ferguson and Dianne Mahan; his 15yr old daughter, Brittany Mauldin; his 13yr old son, Cameron Mauldin; his four brothers and their families.

Funeral services for Officer Anthony Dale Ferguson will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Tays Event Center on the NMSU-A campus; 2400 N. Scenic Dr., Alamogordo, NM.

The Ferguson family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
