Anita Dolan Obituary

Anita Dolan, 73, was born in Mescalero, New Mexico to the late Fabian Dolan, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Kaydahzinne Dolan on April 30, 1951. She was the third child of thirteen children. Anita loved her siblings; she is survived by Cheryl Ann Kayitah, Fabian Dolan, Jr., Sylvia Zap, Adrian Dolan, Patrick Dolan, and Francis Dolan. She is preceded in death by Alvin Dolan, Ilona Dolan, Gerald Dolan, Bernadine Dolan, Garrison Dolan, and Janel Dolan.

Anita’s paternal grandparents were the late Victor Dolan and the late Lola Teo; her maternal grandparents were the late Nelson Kaydahzinne, Sr. and the late Fern Blake-Kaydahzinne; her maternal great grandparents were the late Martin and Nona Blake.

Anita attended Bent Mescalero School and then began her 8th grade year at St. John’s in Laveen, Arizona. She didn’t complete school but did receive her GED and then attended the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute in Albuquerque for optometry. Anita always wished that she completed her education at SIPI.

Anita was so full of life! She enjoyed her family and friends; she always had a house full of friends and family. She was a hospitable person; she invited people into her home and fed her guests. Anita enjoyed listening to her oldies music, decorating her home for the different holiday seasons, and she loved her grandkids, but really loved her great grandkids. She spoiled them!

Anita had one daughter surviving her, Jacqueline Rose Dolan-Wren and her husband, DeMarco Alphonso Wren. Anita is also survived by her five grandchildren, Kendra Ann Tsinnijinnie-Valdez, Rebekah Monique Dolan-Boone, Amaya Elizabeth Dolan-Resendiz, Jean Luc Jones, and Marco Donte Ervin; her 11 great grandchildren, Leighton Dolan, Kassidy Valdez, Dredyn Bradley, Tristan Hunter Valdez, Khelani Haggard, Cathryn Contreras, Alfonzo Dolan, Izabella Valdez, Soleil Boone, and Noah Gonzales.

Anita became ill a few years ago and her health began to deteriorate but she lived her life to the fullest as she always did. She was always full of laughter and love. Anita will be remembered by her oldies music, her love for dancing, her love for family get-togethers, her love for poinsettias. She loved sitting outside on her porch in the summer when it is hot, she would sit outside and pray. Anita loved her sweets, her hard candies, cheese-its, and strawberry Crush soda that was always so hard to find. She loved to visit with her sister Cheryl Ann, she loved her breakfast, she loved her pancakes and her over easy eggs and bacon gravy. Anita loved to watch her grandchildren and loved having her grandchildren around her.

Her first great grandson Leighton, who is currently 9; he was always by her side. He would rather be with his grandma Anita than join the rest of the family to go places. Leighton always made sure she had something to eat, always checked on her, he learned how to build her a fire, made her chips and brought in wood for her. Leighton would always tell his grandma Anita, “When I get big Grandma, I’m gonna buy you a car, I’m gonna buy you a house.” Leighton was her right-hand man; he was always by her side and loved her so much.

Within the last four years, Anita began to attend the Mescalero Baptist Church. She enjoyed it there and continued to attend with Cheryl Ann. Anita also enjoyed the Gospel hymns. She once said that she would sit on her porch and talk to God. A preacher came from out of town to the Camp Meeting that was held in Mescalero at the Plaza in August of 2022, the preacher lady introduced herself to Anita and told Anita that God enjoyed the time spent with her when she sits on her porch. Because of her faith in Jesus and relationship with God, Anita is now sitting in her garden in Heaven.

Anita went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 9, 2024, in Alamogordo, New Mexico surrounded by her family and loved ones. She is dearly missed.
