Andre Dorame Obituary

Andre Anthony Dorame, 53, of Tularosa, New Mexico passed away on December 21, 2025, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Andre was born November 2, 1972, in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Terri Lopez and Tony Dorame. 

Andre is a beloved son, uncle, godfather to five godchildren, grandfather to seven grandchildren, and dad. During his time, he had many jobs including a wild land firefighter, Tularosa volunteer firefighter, heavy equipment/crane operator at the test track at Holloman Air Force Base. Andre took great pride in serving his country as a Veteran of the United States Army. During his service, he was a part of two different conflicts, Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti, and the Battle of Mogadishu, also known as Black Hawk Down in Somalia. Andre bled maroon and white and would faithfully attend any games that the Tularosa Wildcats were playing in. Andre was an active musician and enjoyed playing the drums for various bands including The Home Grown Boys, The Lizard Lounge Band, and filled in for many other bands that needed his services. 

Survivors include his wife, Monica Kazhe-Dorame of the family home in Tularosa; his children, Christian Kazhe of Tularosa, Iris Aguilera and husband Matt of Las Cruces, Vivian Rodriguez and significant other Calvin LaPaz of Mescalero, Dakota Kazhe and wife Marissa of Tularosa, Journie LaPaz and significant other Ty Redhouse of Mescalero, Anthony Rodriguez and significant other Lenaya Apachito of Mescalero; his sister, Michelle Dorame of Tularosa; nephews, Gabriel Lucero and Dakota Dorame both of Tularosa, Chance Coates and wife Ashley of Tularosa. Andre and Monica also extended their home to numerous nephews and family friends including Demitrius Plata, Damian and Marvin Kazhe, and the late Fred Botella. Monica would like to recognize many family members and friends that held a special place in Andre’s heart, Dillon Salazar, Earth Cox, Makeighla Mendez, Starlynne Mendez, Shade Mendez, Veronica and Josiah Blazer, Isis Montoya, Donathan Coates, Josh Walker, Ronnie Willams, Bryan Fierro Jr., and the late Cole Casares. Andre also held his aunt Margie Coates close to his heart and loved celebrating Christmas and St. Francis de Paula Fiestas at her house. 

Andre was preceded into death by his mother, Terri Lopez; father, Tony Dorame; goddaughter, Kyndra Coates. 

The Funeral Service for Andre Anthony Dorame will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa, NM. Viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am to 10:00 am. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am with Funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Tularosa, NM. 

Pallbearers include Chance Coates, Nate Kazhe, Dakota Dorame, Carlos Montoya Jr., Robert Lopez, and Gilbert Guilez.

Honorary pallbearers include intermediate and extended family, godchildren, grandchildren, and friends.

Following the burial, Monica asks that friends and family enjoy a meal at Margie Coates’ house at 202 Durazno, Tularosa, NM.

The Dorame family has entrusted Andre to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
