Allen Edmund Klieves III

Allen Edmund Klieves III, 68, of Alamogordo, New Mexico was born on October 8, 1957, in Los Angeles, California to Allen Edmund Klieves II and Iris Ann Klieves. He was raised in Manhattan Beach, California where he spent his early years as the eldest of three children. Allen passed peacefully in his home in Alamogordo, NM on January 21, 2026.

Allen proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years as an Aerographers mate (AG), retiring in 2000 with the rank of Petty Officer First Class. His service reflected his dedication, discipline, and commitment, qualities that carried through every stage of his life.

Allen was married to Clara M. Klieves for 41 years, with whom he shared four children. He is the father of Leslie Peterson (fiancé Matthew Hardwick) and her children, Jordan Peterson, Isaiah Peterson, and Lilith Hardwick; sons, Christopher Klieves (preceded in death), Robert Klieves, Matthew Klieves.

Allen is survived by his sister, Cathy Summerville (husband Carl) and his brother, William Klieves (wife Laura); children, Sarah Klieves and William Klieves.

Known affectionately as Al or Big Al, he was a natural storyteller, hilarious, charismatic, and memorable to those who knew him. He had a stubborn streak, but it was matched by his humor and his ability to draw people in. A self-described “hobby hopper,” Allen was always diving headfirst into new interests, with his most recent passion being beekeeping.

Above all, Allen will be remembered for his larger-than-life presence, his stories, his service, and the family he loved.

A memorial service to honor Allen will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Real Life Fellowship Church of God (1905 Hamilton Rd. Alamogordo, NM 88310). Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of his life.
