Alan Keith Badrow,72, of Mayhill passed away January 1, 2021. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Alan was born to Ethel (Baker) and Tom Badrow on November 13, 1948 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Alan was raised in Amarillo, Texas graduating from Tascosa High School in 1967. While growing up in Amarillo, Alan was active in Boy Scouts of America obtaining the prestigious God and Country Award. Alan continued his education graduating from West Texas State University in 1974 with a Bachelor's degree in psychology. Alan served in the Army National Guard while working in the construction field as a carpenter, estimator and supervisor in Amarillo, Dallas and Houston. In 1989, Alan made a decision to change his life by joining a Twelve Step Program where he sponsored men and provided inspiration to many members helping them to maintain sobriety. Moving to the Cloudcroft and Mayhill areas in 1996, Alan worked for the Presbyterian Church at Camp Chimney Spring before retiring. His easy smile, gentile manner and his deep concern for people who came to the Camp made him loved by many. Alan loved the outdoors, its critters, and the view from his mountaintop. Woodworking and furniture building were a creative hobby from which family and friends benefitted.
Alan was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Kirk. He is survived by his sons Shawn Badrow and Shane Badrow, his grandson Zane Badrow all of Corpus Christi; his sister Karen (Stan) Enchelmeyer, his nephews Richard Enchelmeyer and Zachary Badrow; his niece Elizbeth Badrow all of Amarillo. Alan will always be remembered as a child of God, loving son, brother, father, uncle, granddad and a faithful friend.
