Adolfo "Rudy" Barbosa Obituary

Adolfo “Rudy” Barbosa,71, peacefully went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2021 in Alamogordo, NM.  He was born on March 13, 1949 in Suchil, Durango, Mexico to Jose y Maria Barbosa. Rudy came to Alamogordo in 1977.  He brought with him his music.  Until his death he led the group he created along with his children and brothers Los Sheriffes del Norte (Barbosa Brothers).  Rudy also worked for Alamogordo Public Schools and retired in 2009 from La Luz, Elementary School.  He was an avid soccer and boxing fan and loved watching his grandchildren play soccer as well as spending time with his family.  He truly enjoyed listening to music taking pictures and writing songs.

Adolfo “Rudy” Barbosa was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria Barbosa as well as his brother, Jesus Barbosa.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Juana Barbosa; children, Rudy/Cristina Barbosa, Saul/Amanda Barbosa, Delia/Luis Ochoa; siblings, Consuelo/Jim (+) Lothridge, Hugo/Vicky Barbosa, Martha/Stanley Gemmell, Joel/Norma Barbosa; grandchildren, Jose Barbosa, Jr. Barbosa, Ananda Diaz, Pita Barbosa, Jesus Ochoa, Diego Ochoa, Bella Ochoa, Gio Barbosa, Gianna Juarez; as well as numerous nephews/ nieces.
 
Should family and friends wish to make contributions in memory of Adolfo Barbosa, the family is requesting donations/contributions be made to the El Paso Children’s Hospital in El Paso, Texas. 

The Barbosa family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.

Given the recent COVID 19 mandates issued by the Governor of New Mexico, any gatherings are limited to five individuals at a time whether that be at the Immaculate Conception Church or at the Alamogordo Funeral Home.  

A tribute/memorial service will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel. In order to maintain the COVID Pandemic regulations, attendance will be restricted to five people at a time as the funeral home will maintain compliance with the Department of Health mandate.
