Adam Scott Taylor, affectionately known as "Hoke," was born on December 8, 1970, at Holloman AFB, NM. Tragically, he passed away on July 14, 2023, at his home in Alamogordo, NM. He was a loving father, a devoted partner, a caring brother, and a dear friend to many.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved children: Holleigh Taylor (27), Haven Taylor (24), and Hunter Pearcey (30); his mother, Karen Taylor; his older brother, Bruce Allen Taylor; and his younger sister, Alisa Taylor. In addition, Adam is survived by his devoted partner of 17 years, Margaret "Peggy" Williams, and her children: Cassidy Medders (19), Aubri Williams (24), and Byron Williams (29).
Adam's journey through life was marked by diverse experiences and unwavering dedication. He was a graduate of Alamogordo High School. In his early years, he worked alongside his father and uncle, moving and setting mobile homes across Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico. Later, he became a skilled carpet and flooring installer in the Alamogordo area, sharing his expertise at the local Lowe's in the flooring department. Subsequently, he worked at Mesa Verde with his father operating the asphalt plant in La Luz until an unfortunate accident severely burned his arm. Upon recovery, he established his own handyman business becoming a jack of all trades.
Passionate about music from a young age, Adam found his groove as a drummer. He formed a band with his big brother and friends during middle school fostering a lifelong hobby. He continued playing the drums for the family band during gatherings up until his passing. Additionally, he showcased his intellect through his participation in the chess club and JROTC during his high school years. Always up for adventure, Adam fearlessly rode the mechanical bull at the Desperado Bar, much to the amusement of his father, often making his mother's hair stand up in excitement.
Adam was a dedicated member of the Eagle's Fraternity in years past and represented the organization in several pool tournaments, an activity he greatly enjoyed. An avid football and NASCAR fan, he proudly displayed his loyalty to the Kansas City Chiefs by wearing their apparel on a daily basis. Music held a special place in Adam's heart, and his family and friends fondly remember him through his favorite music choices.
Known for his infectious positivity and a great sense of humor, Adam had a knack for bringing laughter to his family and friends. His various laughs were a testament to his changing moods, from playful mischief to sheer joy. He possessed a compassionate heart and often stood up for those less fortunate, forming lasting bonds with many disabled individuals throughout the years.
Above all else, Adam cherished spending time with his family. When not with his loved ones, he could be found with his partner, enjoying the casino, or seeking his favorite treats: Reese's peanut butter cups, peanut butter and jelly, or chocolate milk. Adam's influence extended far beyond his children, reaching nephews, cousins, and grandchildren, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.
Adam Scott Taylor was a beautiful soul who lived life to the fullest, always pushing the boundaries. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
