Virginia "Virgie" (Silva) Salazar

Arsenia Virginia Silva-Salazar of Tularosa, NM passed after a lengthy battle with cancer on May 8, 2023. Virgie, as she was called by family and friends, was born in Glencoe, NM on September 20, 1941.

Virgie is survived by her husband, Juan (Johnny) Salazar; daughter, Jeannette Salazar-Arenas; sons, Steve and wife Brenda, Jim and wife Barbara; stepdaughter, Anna and husband Ronnie Walker. Virgie was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren with two additional babies on the way. Virgie is also survived by three brothers, Edward Silva, Henry Silva and wife Beatrice, Demecio (Bill) Silva; sister, Beatrice and husband Gilbert Gomez. 

Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Consuelo Silva; mother and father-in-law, Pantaleon and Annie Salazar; sister, Lydia and husband Roy Chavez; grandson, Brian Oberlander; sisters-in-law, Beatrice and Clara Silva.

A Memorial Mass to remember and celebrate Virgie's life will be held Friday, May 19, 2023, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa, NM. Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am with celebration of Mass at 11:00 am. 

Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

The Salazar family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
