Paul Ritter Obituary
Retired MSGT Paul Tex Ritter, 66, passed away on November 12, 2019 in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
He was born on November 12, 1953 in Laredo, Texas. Paul grew up in Afton, IA and attended East Union Community High School. He entered the U.S. Air Force in December 1971 and retired as a MSGT in February 1992. He was a Vietnam and Desert Storm veteran, serving in many specialties including a bomb loader, B-52 Gunner, and member of the 1st Combat Evaluation Group.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Janet; daughters, Ashley (Royce) Mahoney of West Des Moines, IA, and Jessica (Alec) White of Osceola, IA; Stepson, Jeremy Shell of Columbus, NE; mother, Nellie Ritter of Murray, IA; brother, Steve Ritter of Murray, IA; grandchildren, Jackson, Elliott, Lincoln, Miles, and Sydney; nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur F. Ritter and sister, Brenda Jenkins.
A memorial service for Paul will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Groesbeck Cemetery, Lorimor IA.
Should friends desire, contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to the VFW Post 7678.
